A lovely English-speaking family based in Islington (N1) is looking for a kind, organised and proactive French-speaking nanny to care for their three children (16, 14 and 12 years old) during after-school hours. The role focuses primarily on the youngest child (12), but includes light supervision and support for the older siblings. The family would prefer a candidate who is currently studying.

Job description:

• After-school care for three children (Boy 16, Boy 14, Girl 12)

• School pick-up for the youngest child (Jeannine Manuel bilingual school)

• Homework supervision and help (in French and English)

• Planning and preparing healthy family meals (including packed lunches)

• Children’s laundry (Help to fold )

• Light family-related admin and logistics (e.g. birthday gifts, school supplies)

The ideal candidate:

• French-speaking with good level of English

• Caring, patient, playful and creative

• Well-organised and able to support children’s development and independence

• Able to help with schoolwork and encourage interests in music, arts or sports

• A nurturing presence and positive role model

Details:

• Start date: End of August / early September 2026

• End date: Mid-July 2027 (fixed-term contract)

• Location: Islington, London N1

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 3 or 4pm to 8pm (22 hours/week contract)

• Optional 3–5 extra hours per week for evening babysitting

• Salary: £16–18 net/hour (equivalent to approx. £411–£476 gross/week) depending on experience

Contract and holidays:

• Fixed-term contract until mid-July 2027

• The family does not require childcare during the summer holidays (6–7 weeks)

• There is a possibility to renew the position from September 2027, depending on mutual interest and availability — but this is not a requirement

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older children and pre-teens, is confident supporting with homework, and is happy to help manage the rhythm of a busy family home.
