A long-term after-school position for a family based in Notting Hill Gate, caring for two autonomous, school-aged children. This is a live-out role, Monday to Friday, with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week. Up to 30 hours a week if willing to do nights when the parents go out. 

The family is open to a nanny or manny and is seeking a reliable, structured and fun-loving professional to oversee the children’s afternoon and early evening routine.

Children

• Two children: boy aged 12, girl aged 9
• Both children are autonomous and independent

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
• Guaranteed 20 hours per week, and up to 30 hours a week if willing to do nights 

Salary

• £19–£22 gross per hour
• £380–£440 gross per week (based on 20 hours)

Role Overview

The role is split between shopping, meal preparation before the children arrive home and supervision once they return from school. The children arrive by school bus at approximately 5:00 pm direct to the door. Care is supervisory rather than hands-on, including homework support, oversight of the evening routine, and taking the kids to playdates, activities etc.

Main Responsibilities

• After-school supervision
• Taking the kids to playdates and activities
• Homework support
• Driving is a plus
• Shopping, and preparing the family evening meal

Nanny Duties

• Preparing a family meal between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm
• Cleaning and tidying the kitchen after own use only
• Supervising homework and school tasks
• Supervising shower time (children wash independently)
• Ensuring children follow their routine
• Supporting playdates and child-related drop-offs/pick-ups
• Managing the after-school and early evening routine

Child-Related Housekeeping

• Kitchen tidied after cooking only
• Children’s areas kept organised
• Grocery shopping related to family meals and children

No deep cleaning. No general household housekeeping.

Requirements

• Experience with school-aged, autonomous children
• Confident driver
• Able to cook simple, nutritious family meals
• Organised, reliable, and autonomous
• Calm, warm, and structured approach
• Comfortable in a long-term, after-school role
