A family in Chiswick (W4) is looking for an experienced Nanny to care for their two children: a toddler aged 2.5 years and a newborn. This is a long-term, live-out position for a warm, proactive nanny who genuinely enjoys working with young children and babies.

Children

• Toddler, 2.5 years – active, curious, loves outings and activities.

• Newborn – currently breastfed, with the mother at home on a long-term basis.

Working Hours

• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

• 9am–6pm

• 27 hours per week (live-out)

Salary

• £19–£22 gross per hour

• £513–£594 gross per week (for 27 hours)

Start Date

• Mid-January 2026 for the right candidate.

Pets

• One cat – nanny must be comfortable around animals.

Role Overview

The nanny will be primarily focused on the toddler (outings, play, routine), while providing occasional support to the mother with the newborn. The mother will remain at home, and the nanny will work in partnership with her, while maintaining clear independence in her duties.

The role focuses strictly on childcare and light household support directly related to the children.
No general household cleaning is expected.

Main Responsibilities

Nanny Duties – Toddler

• Plan and supervise daily outings: park, playgroups, museum visits, local activities.

• Organise age-appropriate activities: creative play, reading, games, early learning.

• Support language development (French and/or English as agreed with the family).

• Prepare healthy, simple meals and snacks for the toddler.

• Manage the toddler’s daily routine: naps, toilet/potty (if applicable), hygiene, bath time.

• Provide a safe, warm, and stimulating environment.

• Keep the toddler’s bedroom, play areas, and used spaces tidy and organised.

Nanny Duties – Newborn

• Occasional support to the mother while she is breastfeeding and caring for the baby.

• Help with basic care when required: changing, dressing, soothing, gentle stimulation.

• Participate in the introduction of solid foods when the baby is ready, following parents’ guidance.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining age-appropriate routines (sleep, feeding, playtime).

Child-related Housekeeping (only)

• Clean and tidy up after children’s meals (dishes, high chair, table, floor if needed).

• Load/unload the dishwasher.

• Tidy toys and play areas at the end of the day.

• Keep children’s bedrooms and nursery areas organised.

• Manage children’s laundry if needed: washing, drying, folding, and putting away.

• Maintain a clean, safe environment for the children.
  (No deep cleaning, no general household housekeeping.)

Requirements

• French speaker or excellent level of French.

• Very good level of English.

• Strong experience with toddlers and newborns (including routines and development).

• Confident supporting introduction of solids and healthy eating habits.

• Valid DBS check.

• Paediatric First Aid up to date.

• Warm, calm, reliable, and proactive, able to manage two young children.

• Comfortable with cats.

• Excellent references.
