A family based in Chiswick (W4) is seeking a reliable and experienced French-speaking nanny to care for their two young children: a toddler aged 2.5 years and a baby aged 3 months. This is a live-out, part-time position over three full days per week. The role suits a nurturing nanny who enjoys supporting early development through play, outings, and structured routines.
Children
Child 1: 2.5 years old – energetic, curious, and enjoys outdoor activities, playgroups, and creative play.
Child 2: 3-month-old baby – the mother is currently at home and primarily responsible for the baby’s care.
Working Hours
Wednesday to Friday
9:00am – 6:00pm
Total: 27 hours per week (live-out)
Salary
£19 – £22 gross per hour
£513 – £594 gross per week (based on 27 hours)
Start Date
Flexible – the family is happy to wait for the right candidate.
Pets
The family has one cat.
Role Overview
The nanny will mainly care for the toddler, organising stimulating activities, outings, and maintaining a consistent daily routine. The mother will remain at home and will continue caring for the baby, though occasional support may be requested when needed.
This position focuses on child-related duties only. The family is not looking for a housekeeper and no deep cleaning is required.
Main Responsibilities
Nanny Duties – Toddler
Plan engaging daily activities and outings.
Organise play-based learning activities, reading, and creative play.
Support early development and language skills.
Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks.
Maintain the child’s routine (meals, naps, hygiene, bath time if required).
Ensure a safe and stimulating environment.
Keep the child’s bedroom and play areas tidy.
Nanny Duties – Baby
Provide occasional support to the mother when needed.
Assist with basic baby care such as changing and dressing.
Help soothe and comfort the baby if required.
Follow parents’ guidance regarding feeding and routines.
Participate in developmental play and gentle stimulation.
Child-related Housekeeping
Clean and tidy after children’s meals.
Load and unload the dishwasher if used for children’s items.
Keep play areas organised at the end of the day.
Maintain children’s bedrooms and nursery spaces tidy.
Manage children’s laundry when required (wash, dry, fold, put away).
Ensure children’s spaces remain clean and safe.
No deep cleaning or general household chores.
Requirements
Fluent French speaker or excellent level of French.
Strong command of English.
Solid experience with both toddlers and young babies.
Understanding of early childhood development and routines.
Valid DBS check.
Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid.
Warm, organised, and proactive personality.
Comfortable working in a home with a cat.
Excellent references.
