A welcoming family based in Muswell Hill is seeking a French-speaking nanny to care for their two young children. This is a role within a structured yet relaxed household that values outdoor activities and a nurturing approach.

Children

Two children: 3 years old and 1 year old. The family is likely to grow in the coming year and may require support with a third child.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm (45 hours per week)

Salary

£21–£25 net per hour (depending on experience)
£945 – £1125 net per week (45h)
£1,337.66 – £1,906.18 gross per week (depending on experience)

Personal food and drink allowance reimbursed up to £15

Start Date

ASAP (flexible for the right candidate; part-time start possible before transitioning to full-time in September)

Role Overview

The family currently employs a nanny who will remain in post until going on maternity leave.

This is a position within a family environment where both parents are involved in the children’s daily routines.

The children enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the park, attending classes, theatre, and engaging in messy play and creative activities.

The eldest child attends nursery three times per week during term-time only. During school holidays, both children will be at home full-time. Nursery drop-offs and pick-ups are usually handled by both parents, but the nanny may also help on occasion.

The family is looking for a proactive, warm, and organised nanny with a strong background in teaching French. The toddler currently speaks French fluently, and it is important to maintain and further develop this. Experience supporting early learning such as reading would be highly valued.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and nurturing care to both children
• Work collaboratively with both parents
• Support daily routines and developmental activities
• Encourage outdoor play and active routines
• Adapt to evolving family needs

Nanny Duties

• Organising age-appropriate activities (indoor and outdoor)
• Taking children to the park, classes, theatre, and local outings
• Encouraging messy play and creative activities
• Supporting French language development through daily interaction and structured learning
• Assisting with nursery routines when required

• Preparing nutritious lunches and snacks for the children

• Supporting nap routines and general daily structure

Child-related Housekeeping

• Children’s laundry
• Keeping play areas and bedrooms tidy
• Cleaning up after meals and activities
• Maintaining organisation of children’s belongings
• No deep cleaning

Requirements

• Fluent French speaker
• Strong experience in teaching French to young children
• Previous experience with toddlers and young children
• Comfortable working alongside parents
• Flexible and adaptable to evolving family needs
• Proactive, organised, and reliable
• Valid DBS and Paediatric First Aid (or willing to obtain)

Contract

12-month fixed-term contract
