A family based in Shepherd’s Bush, W12, is looking for an active, energetic and reliable French-speaking nanny to care for their two young children.
The family already employs a nanny who works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and is looking for a second nanny to complement the existing childcare arrangement by covering Mondays and Fridays, with further hours available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This is a long-term, part-time nanny-share position offering 24 to 30 hours per week.
Children
One girl aged 4.
One boy aged 2.5.
Working Hours
Monday: 7:30am to 8:00pm (12.5 hours)
Friday: 7:30am to 7:00pm (11.5 hours)
Wednesday and Thursday: Additional afternoon hours available, ideally 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Total: 24 to 30 hours per week.
Mondays and Fridays are essential. The family can offer up to six additional hours across Wednesday and Thursday, depending on the nanny’s availability.
Salary
£18 net per hour.
Approximately £21.08–£21.87 gross per hour.
Start Date
Beginning of January 2027.
Role Overview
The family is looking for a very active, energetic and engaging nanny who enjoys working with young children and can provide a stimulating, fun and safe environment.
The nanny must speak French at all times with the children, encouraging their language development through everyday conversations, play, activities and outings.
The role involves supporting the children’s daily routines, nursery pick-ups, extracurricular activities and general development.
One of the children has a nut intolerance, which the nanny should be aware of when preparing food.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working alongside the family’s existing nanny as part of a shared childcare arrangement.
Main Responsibilities
Childcare Duties
- Speak French consistently with the children.
- Collect both children from nursery.
- Support the children’s daily routines.
- Organise engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Encourage French language development through play and conversation.
- Take the children to extracurricular activities and classes.
- Support the older child’s ballet activities.
- Organise outdoor play, outings and stimulating activities.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children.
- Assist with bath and bedtime routines when required.
- Work collaboratively with the family’s existing nanny.
- Ensure the children are safe, happy and appropriately stimulated.
Child-Related Housekeeping
- Tidy up after the children.
- Keep play areas clean and organised.
- Clean up after children’s meals and snacks.
- Organise children’s belongings and toys.
- Assist with children’s laundry when required.
- No deep cleaning is required.
Requirements
- Fluent French speaker.
- Ability to speak French consistently with the children.
- Previous experience caring for toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Active, energetic, engaging and proactive personality.
- Confident managing nursery pick-ups and children’s activities.
- Experience supporting children’s development through play.
- Comfortable working alongside another nanny.
- Reliable, organised and safety-conscious.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Right to Work in the UK.
