A family based in Westbourne Grove, W2, is looking for a French-speaking nanny to care for their two children, aged 5 and 8. This is a permanent position. The family is looking for someone calm, reliable, caring and experienced with school-aged children.

Children

Two children aged 5 and 8.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, from 3:00pm to 7:30/8:30pm.
Approximately 22.5 to 27.5 hours per week.
During school holidays, the family may need full-time or part-time hours

Salary

£18 – £20 net per hour.
Approximately £488 to 702 gross per week.
The final salary will depend on the exact hours worked and will be confirmed with the family.

Role Overview

The nanny will be responsible for the children after school, including school pick-ups, taking them to regularly scheduled activities, proactively planning playdates, meals, evening routine and child-related duties, as well as reading in French and doing French homework with the children. The role is focused on childcare and child-related housekeeping only. No deep cleaning.

Main Responsibilities

Nanny Duties

• Pick up the children from school.
• Ensure the children’s safety and well-being.
• Supervise the children after school.
• Organise age-appropriate games and activities.
• Plan creative activities and outings.
• Support homework if required.
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks for the children.
• Help with the children’s daily routine.
• Assist with bath time.
• Prepare the children for bedtime when required.
• Encourage the children’s French language development.
• Plan activities during school holidays.

Child-related Housekeeping

• Keep the children’s bedrooms tidy.
• Tidy toys and play areas.
• Keep the kitchen clean after the children’s meals.
• Prepare school bags and belongings.
• Keep uniforms and children’s items organised.
• Manage the children’s laundry if required.
• Maintain the children’s areas clean and organised.
• No deep cleaning.

Requirements

• Must be French speaker
• Experience with school-aged children.
• Confident with after-school routines, able to multi-task.
• Able to organise activities and outings.
• Reliable, caring and proactive.
• Flexible during school holidays.
• Good communication with the parents.
• Enjoyment or skills in art or cooking with children is desirable
