A family based in Victoria, SW1V is looking for a professional French-speaking nanny to support the household with the care of their three children.

This is a mixed sole and shared care role, but with clear responsibilities defined. Working collaboratively with the mother, the position requires independent work to support the different children with their various needs. The role includes local school and kindergarten pick-ups, and local after-school activities as well as support with the children’s afternoon and evening routines. 

For candidates selecting Option 2, the early afternoon will focus more on nursery routines and developmental play with the youngest child.

Children

Three children aged 7.5, 3.5 and 1.5 years old

Working Hours

Option 1 (Part time)
Monday to Friday
3:00pm to 8:00pm
25 hours per week

Option 2 (Full time)
Monday to Friday
12:00pm to 8:00pm
40 hours per week

Salary

£19 to £22 gross per hour

Option 1 – 25 hours/week
Approx. £475 to £550 gross per week

Option 2 – 40 hours/week
Approx. £760 to £880 gross per week

Role Overview

The nanny will work with clear responsibilities regarding the children, to help provide extra support to the mother in facilitating the children’s daily routines.

The nanny will help with fostering a creative, engaging and developmentally appropriate play and learning environment, local school and kindergarten pick-ups, travel to and from local after-school activities, meals, bath time and the evening routines.

Main Responsibilities

• Fostering a creative, engaging and developmentally appropriate play and learning environment 
• Local school and kindergarten pick-ups
• Local after-school activities, travel to and from
• Help with the afternoon and evening routines
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
• Help with evening routine, including bath time and bedtime preparation
• Speaking French exclusively with the children to promote language acquisition
• Support the mother with the children in managing their overlapping schedules

Child-related Housekeeping

• Keeping the children’s bedrooms and communal areas tidy
• Keeping the play areas organised
• Cleaning up after meal times
• Note: Help with child-related duties only; no deep cleaning 

Requirements

• Must speak French fluently
• Proven experience with toddlers and school-aged children
• Comfortable working in mixed sole and shared care with a parent, though clear responsibilities will be defined
• Reliable, punctual and highly organised
• Proactive and flexible
• Energetic and physically active (comfortable navigating staircases)
• Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid required
