A family based in Little Venice, near Paddington Station, is looking for a French speaking afternoon nanny to help care for their two children.
The family already employs a full-time live-in nanny/helper, so this role is focused on providing real added value in the afternoons: engaging the children, supporting their routine, encouraging good habits and manners, and helping with after-school activities.
Children
Two children:
- Boy aged 3.5 years old
- Baby girl aged 6 months old
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
4:00pm to 8:00pm
20 hours per week
The family may also be open to additional weekend hours.
Salary
£20 to £22 gross per hour
Approximately £400 to £440 gross per week
Start Date
Around October
Some flexibility on the start date.
Pets
The family has one cat.
Role Overview
The family is looking for an experienced, reliable and proactive nanny who can support the children’s afternoon and evening routine.
The ideal candidate will be confident with young children, able to engage them in a warm and educational way, and help build good habits and manners.
A background in childcare or education would be a strong plus.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the children’s afternoon routine
- Collect the children from school / nursery / after-school club
- Take the eldest child to activities
- Activities may include swimming, tennis and other after-school activities
- Organise age-appropriate activities at home
- Encourage good manners and positive behaviour
- Support early development through play and interaction
- Help with the evening routine
- Prepare or serve children’s meals as needed
- Bath and bedtime preparation
Nanny Duties
- Children’s meals and snacks
- Children’s laundry if required
- Tidying children’s bedrooms and play areas
- Keeping children’s belongings organised
- Cleaning up after children’s meals and activities
- Preparing bags, clothes and items needed for activities
Child-related Housekeeping
- Child-related duties only
- No deep cleaning
- The family has a live-in helper for general household support
Requirements
- French speaker
- Experienced with young children
- Confident supporting children’s routines
- Able to engage children in a warm and educational way
- Well-mannered, reliable and proactive
- Background in childcare or education would be a plus
- Must be comfortable with cats
- Enhanced DBS and First Aid would be preferred
