A family based in Hampstead is looking for an experienced, reliable French-speaking live-out nanny to care for their two school-aged children.
The family values an active and structured routine and is keen for the nanny to support the children’s interests, including dance for the youngest and fencing for the eldest.

This is a long-term role offered on a 40-hour weekly contract, paid in full, within a shared custody arrangement.

Children

  • Boy, 11 years old

  • Girl, 7 years old

Working Hours

Contracted hours: 40 hours per week (paid in full)

Actual hours worked (rota basis):

Week 1 – approx. 36.5 hours

  • Monday: 2pm – 8pm

  • Tuesday: 6.30am – 7pm

  • Wednesday: 6.30am – 10.30am

  • Friday: 2pm – 8pm

  • Saturday: 4 hours (optional, depending on family needs)

  • Sunday: 4 hours (optional, depending on family needs)

Week 2 – approx. 30 hours

  • Monday: 6.30am – 7.30pm

  • Tuesday: 6.30am – 7.30pm

  • Wednesday: 6.30am – 10.30am

Early starts are required on some days.

Salary

  • £19–£22 gross per hour

  • Weekly gross (40h contract): £760 – £880

Role Overview

Sole-charge position within a shared custody arrangement. The nanny will be contracted and paid for 40 hours per week, even though actual worked hours may vary depending on the custody week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Sole charge care

  • School runs

  • Supporting after-school routines and activities

  • Encouraging French language exposure

Nanny Duties

  • Morning routines and school preparation

  • School drop-offs and pick-ups

  • Preparing child-appropriate meals

  • Supervising homework

  • Organising age-appropriate activities

  • Accompanying the children to extracurricular activities

  • Maintaining routines and boundaries

Child-related Housekeeping

  • Children’s laundry

  • Tidying children’s bedrooms and play areas

  • Cleaning kitchen and play areas after use

  • No deep cleaning

Requirements

  • Fluent French speaker (essential)

  • Must be a driver (essential)

  • Proven experience with school-aged children

  • Reliable, flexible, and well organised

  • Comfortable with early starts and occasional weekend hours

  • Right to work in the UK
