A family based in Southbank is seeking an experienced full-time nanny to care for their newborn and their child aged 3.5 years. This is a long-term, daytime position starting in April. The family is looking for a highly professional, structured, and dynamic nanny, ideally with a Norland background or equivalent high-level training and experience.

Children

  • Newborn (due May 2026)

  • Child aged 3.5 years (attends school from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm)

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:00 am – 7:00 pm

  • Approx. 55 hours/week

Salary

  • Competitive and negotiable, depending on experience

  • Gross salary discussed at interview stage

Start Date

  • April 2026

Role Overview

The nanny will be responsible for full daytime care of the newborn and shared care of the older child outside school hours. A maternity nurse will be in place for the first six months and will take over care from 7:00 pm onwards, ensuring a clear and structured daily handover. This is a strictly daytime role with no overnight duties. The family travels once or twice per year and requires flexibility to accompany them when needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Full daytime care of the newborn

  • Care of the older child before and after school

  • Coordinating daily handover with the maternity nurse at 7:00 pm

  • Managing routines for both children

  • Supporting children’s development

  • Ensuring a safe, structured, and stimulating environment

Nanny Duties

  • Newborn care during the day (feeds, naps, routines)

  • Managing school drop-offs and pick-ups as required

  • Organising age-appropriate activities

  • Outdoor outings and play

  • Preparing children’s meals

  • Monitoring development and wellbeing

  • Daily communication with parents

Maternity / Newborn Duties

  • Establishing and maintaining daytime routines

  • Bottle preparation if applicable

  • Settling for naps

  • Nappy changes and hygiene care

  • Supporting parents with newborn routines

Child-related Housekeeping

  • Children’s laundry

  • Keeping bedrooms and play areas tidy

  • Cleaning bottles and child-related equipment

  • No deep cleaning

Requirements

  • Proven experience with newborns and toddlers

  • Norland training preferred

  • Excellent English

  • Dynamic, proactive, and organised

  • Comfortable travelling with the family (1–2 trips per year)

  • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Right to work in the UK
