A family based in Wandsworth, SW18, is looking for a French-speaking nanny to care for their two boys. The family is open to either an after-school nanny or a nanny/housekeeper. This is a permanent part-time position. The family is looking for someone reliable, organised, energetic and experienced with school-aged children.
Children
Two boys aged 4 and 8.
Both children attend Marie d’Orliac School in Parsons Green.
Working Hours
Option 1 – After-School Nanny
Approximately 25 hours per week, annualised over 52 weeks.
The nanny will receive the same salary each week throughout the year.
During term time:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 4:00pm to 7:30pm.
Wednesday: 2:30pm to 7:30pm.
19 working hours per week.
During school holidays:
Monday to Friday: 1:00pm to 7:30pm.
32.5 working hours per week.
Option 2 – Nanny/Housekeeper
Approximately 25 to 30 hours per week.
Housekeeping duties will generally take place from 2:00pm to 3:30pm before the school pick-up.
The remaining hours will be dedicated to childcare.
Occasional evening or weekend babysitting may be required and will be agreed in advance.
Flexibility may occasionally be required depending on the parents’ work commitments.
Salary
£19–£22 gross per hour.
Option 1: approximately £475–£550 gross per week, based on annualised hours.
Option 2: approximately £475–£660 gross per week, depending on the agreed weekly hours.
Depending on experience.
Start Date
31 August 2026.
Pets
The family has a small elderly dog.
No pet care duties required.
Role Overview
The nanny will be responsible for the care of the two boys, supporting their routines, homework and activities.
The family is open to either an after-school nanny or a nanny/housekeeper who can assist with household tasks before collecting the children from school.
The role requires someone energetic, organised and proactive who can safely manage two active school-aged children.
Main Responsibilities
Collecting both children safely from school.
Travelling home with the children by public transport.
Taking the children to activities when required.
Supporting the children with their homework.
Organising age-appropriate activities.
Keeping the children engaged and entertained.
Maintaining a safe and structured environment.
Supporting the children’s afternoon and evening routines.
Nanny Duties
School pick-ups.
Taking the children to extracurricular activities.
Homework support.
Preparing snacks.
Preparing simple and light meals for the children when required.
Planning age-appropriate activities.
Organising outings during school holidays.
Supporting the children’s routines.
Keeping children’s areas tidy and organised.
Ensuring the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
Child-Related Duties
Tidying up after the children.
Keeping children’s areas organised.
Cleaning up after meals and snacks.
Keeping toys and belongings organised.
Only child-related housekeeping duties are required for Option 1.
No deep cleaning.
Additional Housekeeping Duties – Option 2 Only
General household tidying.
Light housekeeping duties.
Keeping the home organised.
Additional household support as agreed with the family.
No deep cleaning.
Requirements
French or English Speaker.
Previous professional experience with children of similar ages.
Must be confident caring for two active children.
Warm, engaging and proactive personality.
Reliable and highly organised.
Able to prioritise the children’s safety and wellbeing.
Enhanced DBS check.
Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Excellent checkable references.
Must be comfortable with pets.
