A family based in Hackney, E8, is looking for a proactive and reliable Morning Nanny / Mother’s Help to support with their toddler, newborn baby, and light household tasks.

The role will start in August and run on morning hours until November. From November, the position will move to afternoon hours.

Children

• One boy aged 3 years old
• One newborn baby due in July

The 3-year-old enjoys reading, Lego, puzzles, and going to the park. He eats well and has an established morning routine.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
8:00am to 12:00pm
20 hours per week

From November, the role will switch to afternoons. Exact afternoon schedule to be confirmed.

Salary

£19 to £22 gross per hour
£380 to £440 gross per week

Role Overview

The family is looking for someone proactive, organised, and confident taking initiative.

The role will include supporting the mother with the newborn, helping with the toddler’s morning routine, nursery drop-off, and keeping the home calm and functional during the morning.

The home is set over three floors, so the nanny must be comfortable working in a multi-level house.

French-speaking candidates are preferred, but the family is open to other profiles as long as the candidate speaks good English.

Main Responsibilities

Nanny Duties

• Support with the newborn during the morning
• Help with feeding, changing, settling, and general baby care
• Assist with the toddler’s morning routine
• Help the toddler get ready for nursery
• Nursery drop-off
• Engage with the toddler when needed
• Read books
• Support calm play with Lego, puzzles, and age-appropriate activities
• Take initiative when supporting both children
• Maintain a calm and organised morning routine

Maternity / Newborn Duties

• Support the mother with newborn care
• Prepare bottles if needed
• Sterilise baby items if required
• Change nappies
• Help settle the baby
• Keep baby areas tidy and organised
• Support with baby laundry

Child-related Housekeeping

• Children’s laundry
• Simple meal preparation
• Light tidying after the children
• Keep the main living area functional and calm
• Keep children’s areas organised
• Tidy toys and books
• No deep cleaning

Household Duties

• Light laundry support
• Simple meal preparation
• Light tidying around the main living areas
• Help keep the home organised during the morning
• Take initiative where needed
• Support the mother with practical household tasks

Requirements

• Experience with newborns and toddlers
• Confident supporting a mother with a newborn
• Able to manage a toddler’s morning routine
• Proactive and able to take initiative
• Organised, calm, and reliable
• Comfortable working in a house over three floors
• French speaker preferred
• Good level of English required
• DBS and First Aid mandatory
