A welcoming English family based near Sloane Square, SW3, is seeking a live-in nanny housekeeper. The role will involve caring for their 19-month-old son, day to day running of their house, and supporting the family generally. The family is also expecting a baby in September and the role may in time include support with the baby.

The family is looking for a kind, reliable, and flexible individual with previous experience working with young children and a good level of English.

Children

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
7:00am – 6:00pm
50 to 55 hours per week, depending on the agreed schedule
Some additional evening and weekend babysitting by separate arrangement
Occasional travel out of London with the family

Salary

£39,000 – £45,000 gross per year
Approx. £750 – £865 gross per week
Depending on experience and final working schedule

( The family is open to junior profile £33,800 gross per year for 50 hours per week or £37,180 gross per year for 55 hours per week)

Start Date

Summer 2026. Earliest 1st July, latest late-August (open to discussion)

It is important to the family that you have time to settle in and bond with their son before their second child is born

Accommodation

Lower-ground floor accommodation within a townhouse with:

Private bedroom & bathroom
Separate entrance
Good level of privacy

Use of lower ground floor sitting room (used as children’s playroom during the day)

Please note the lower ground floor accommodation is not a separate flat and is connected internally with the rest of the family home

Role Overview

This is a live-in mixed nanny housekeeper position focused on the care, routine and development of a toddler, keeping the household running smoothly, and future support around the newborn once the baby arrives.

This is not a deep cleaning role, the family employs a cleaner.

The family is looking for someone with a warm personality, experienced working with young children, kind, organised and flexible.

Main Responsibilities

Nanny Duties

Provide safe and attentive daily care for the children at all times
Maintain a calm and safe environment for both children
Follow the child’s routine, naps and daily structure
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child and manage mealtimes
Organise age-appropriate play-based, music and creative activities
Support early development and learning
Take the toddler to local playdates, activities, classes and outings
Support with bath time and bedtime routine if required
Keep the children’s areas and the house tidy and organised
Maintain toys, books and nursery items
Prepare the child’s clothes and pack/unpack bag for the day
Keep parents updated and informed
Support the family with the transition when the baby arrives and be comfortable having sole charge of the toddler (potentially overnight) when the baby is being born

Maternity / Newborn Duties

Assist with newborn care when required
Keep newborn items clean and organised
Maintain bottles and baby equipment if required

Housekeeping

Help the mother with the family laundry and ironing
Keeping the house and the children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised
Preparing meals for the child and cleaning up the kitchen afterwards (e.g. washing up, vacuuming, mopping the floor)
Changing children’s bedsheets and towels weekly/as needed
Taking the nappy bin out and keeping the bin and changing areas sterile
Cleaning and sterilising baby-related items
Preparing and organising children’s clothes
Occasionally ocooking simple meals for the whole family when needed
Keeping household organised and tidy
Loading and unloading the dishwasher
Taking out the bins when needed
Running occasional local errands for the family

Requirements

Previous toddler & baby nannying experience, preferably in a long term live-in position. Newborn experience would be an advantage.
Good understanding of children’s routines and development
Reliable, responsible, organised and tidy
Flexible
Nurturing, patient and warm personality essential
Collaborative with the parents and good communication skills
Kind and sensitive to the needs of young children and a new mother
Comfortable working in a live-in position and working alongside the mother who will be in the home, supporting her as needed
Happy to support with family cooking and laundry
Happy to travel with the family occasionally
Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid, up to date
Good level of English
Strong verifiable references from previous families
Long term availability
