Hygiene expectations – followed by the entire family
The family follows a strict hygiene protocol, respected by all members of the household (parents and children), and they expect the nanny to follow the same approach with consistency and care:
- Upon entering the home, everyone changes into indoor clothes. The nanny will be required to leave a clean outfit at the family’s home to be worn only while working indoors.
- The nanny needs to change outfit when taking the children outdoor, and change back to the indoor outfit on return.
- Handwashing is mandatory between every action, no matter how small. For example:
- If the nanny is feeding the child and needs to touch the bin or the mobile phone or open the door to receive delivery, she must wash her hands again before touching the child or food afterwards.
- This level of hygiene applies throughout the day (mealtimes, nappy changes, pick up the baby from her cot bed, playtime, etc.)
The routine is applied without exception, ensuring the children are cared for in a consistently clean and safe environment.
Mobile phone usage expectations:
- The nanny doesn’t use the phone for personal social purposes (chatting, texting, browsing internet, etc) when working with the children (at home and outdoor) to ensure the focus on the safety of the children.
- Nanny’s phone can turn on the sound in case of needing to answer to urgent calls or answering to parents’ call.
- Nanny doesn’t show screen time to the baby (i,e, no mobile phone or TV)
