A warm and welcoming family in Battersea (on 170 bus route, near 345/319/49 bus stops) is looking for a French-speaking nanny to join them for after-school care & some holiday care of their two children 4 and 7 years old (MS & CE1). The role focuses on creating a fun, safe, and fully French-speaking environment to support the children’s learning and development.
Start date: November 2025 (flexible – the family can wait until start of January 2026 for the right candidate)
Contract: Part-time, 18 hours per week. Potentially some full-time care (i.e. 10 hours per day) for some school holidays.
Salary: £18 gross per hour (approx. £324 gross per week during school term)
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- Wednesday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Main duties:
- School pick-up (local French school Ecole de Battersea) – 11 min walk from home.
- Speak exclusively in French with the children
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks and dinners
- Proactive support with French homework and reading
- Taking the children to Royal Academy of Dance classes after school on Monday (4.30-5.15), Tuesday (4.55-5.55) and Thursday (5.20-6.05). 15 minute walk from school.
- Organise engaging, age-appropriate games and activities
- Ensure the children’s safety and well-being at all times
Requirements:
- Fluent in French
- Proven experience in a similar childcare role
- Warm, reliable, and able to make learning French fun
- Proactive approach to work
- Tidy, organised with good communication skills
- DBS check and Paediatric First Aid (mandatory before start date)
